AFRICAN FLOWER GRANNY CROCHET PATTERN

ABBREVIATIONS:

sl knot = slip knot
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch (to fasten)
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
fo = fasten off
Rnd = round

AFRICAN FLOWER CROCHET PATTERN

1. Base Round – sl knot, ch 6, sl st into the first ch to make a ring.
2. Rnd 1 – ch 3, 1 dc, ch1, *2 dc, ch1, * repeat until you have six spaces and six 2dc. sl st to the 3rd chain of the beginning round. fo
3. Rnd 2 – Change color: Start in a space. ch 5, 2 dc in same space, *ch1, 2 dc, ch2, 2 dc in next space – repeat * 5 times, 1 dc and sl st into the 3rd ch of the beginning round.
4. Rnd 3 – ch3, dc6 in the 2-ch space, ch1, * dc7 in next 2-ch space, ch1, repeat * 5 times. sl st the 3rd ch of the beginning round. fo.
5. Rnd 4 – New color: ch1, sc around and make a long stitch down in round 2 between each flower petal. End with sl st. fo.
6. Rnd 5 – White: ch3, 3 dc, ch1, *dc 1 in the same st as last dc, dc 3, ch1 (skip long stitch of the previous round), 4 dc, ch1, repeat 5 times, dc 1 in the same st as last dc, dc 3 ch1, sl st to the 3rd ch from the beginning round. Lana vopsita manual in fir degrade, How I hand-paint using Kool-Aid or food coloring dyes

 Materiale necesare:
- fir cu lana 100% sau 75%;
- vopsele textile (eu am folosit vopseaua Columbus si Kool - Aid);

- folie alimentara;
- un pumn de sare;
- manusi protectoare;
- 3 sau mai multe vase in functie de numarul culorilor.

Pasul 1
Pe spatarul a 3 scaune asezate in triunghi, desiram un ghem si formam un scul.
Cu cat triunghiul format de cele 3 scaune este mai mare si degradeul realizat va fi mai mare (va fi un degrade cu fir lung).
Ca sa evitam incurcarea sculului in procesele ce urmeaza, prindem sculul din loc in loc cu un fir de ata.

Pasul 2
Luam sculul astfel format si il introducem intr-un vas cu apa calda (eu l-am introdus in chiuveta din bucatarie)

Intre timp pregatesc vopselele in 3 sau mai multe recipiente in functie de cate culori avem.(Dizolvam vopseaua in apa calda intr-o cana, pahar etc.Vom avea mai multe pahare in functie de numarul culorilor pe care dorim sa le folosim. Culorile pot fi combinate pentru a ajunge la nuanta dorita)

Pe o masa mai mare (eu am folosit masa din bucatarie) scot sculul din vasul cu apa,  il storc putin sa nu curga apa si il asez pe masa care in prealabil a fost acoperita cu o folie .

Sculul se introduce apoi in cele 3 recipiente cu vopsele. Le lasam in aceste vase intre 5 si 10 minute in functie de intensitatea culorii pe care o dorim, apoi, le scoatem pe rand din recipiente, le stoarcem si le imbracam in folie alimentara.

Pasul 3
Intr-o cratita cu apa si cu o mana de sare punem sculul la fiert, imbracat in totalitate in folie alimentara Il fierbem cca o ora.
Oprim  focul si lasam sculul in apa in care a fiert pana la racire.

 Pasul 4
Scoatem sculul din apa in care a fiert si il spalam cu detergent de vase apoi il clatim pana cand apa ramane limpede.
Il uscam dupa care refacem  ghemele initiale.

ABREVIERI - ABBREVIATIONS

K= knit = ochi pe fata;

P= purl= ochi pe dos;

Kfb= knit in the front and knit in the back of the same stitch,= in acelasi ochi , tricotam 2 ochiuri, unul pe fata, unul pe dos; 

SSK= slip- slip- knit,= tricotam imreuna doua ochiuri de la stanga spre dreapta, rezulta un singur ochi; 

k2tog= knit two together= tricotam imreuna doua ochiuri de la dreapta spre stanga, rezulta un singur ochi;  

sts= stitches = ochi

C6B= Cable 6 back: put next 3 stitches on cable needle at back of work, knit 3, knit the 3 from the cable needle.­­­­­­­­­­.= sarim trei ochiuri pe care le lasam in asteptare pe un stitch marker,in spatele lucrului,  lucram pe fata urmatoarele 3 ochiuri, apoi luam cele 3 ochiuri aflate in asteptare si le lucram tot pe fata. 

C6F= 1. Slip the next 3 stitches onto the cable needle,

Cast on 82 stitches by using US#4 (3.5 mm) needle. Montam 82 ochiuri pe ace de 3 mm, lucram gulerul , k1, p1, apoi schimbam andrelele cu cele de 3.5 mm.

Row 1:(WS) *(p1, k1), repeat between*, end with p1.

Row 2:(RS) *(k1, p1), repeat between*, end with k1.

Repeat Row 1 and 2 up to Row 20.

Row 21:(WS) change to US#6 (4 mm) needle.= k8, p10, place marker, p10, place marker, p26, place marker,p10, place marker, p10, k8.

Row 22:Slip all markers from Row 22. (RS) k5, p3, k to last 8 sts, and Kfb before and after markers, p3, k5. (90 sts).

Repeat this increasing method (Kfb before and after markers) to every marker for every right side row.

Sleeves

Pick up stitches from a holder to US#6 (4 mm) three DPNs evenly.

Picking up plus 4 sts from cast on  underarms to avoid any gap. (2 sts on 1^st DPN and 2 sts on 3^rd DPN)

Tie yarn at the middle of underarm to knit in the round.

Rounds 1-6: k around (54 sts)

Row 7 : SSK, k to last 2 sts, k2tog. (52 sts)

Repeat Round 1 to 7 (6) more times to reach round 49.

There will be total of 40 sts left on the needles.
